Facilities work team update for Nov. 16th

  • Facilities managing the following ongoing studies – Quality of Life needs assessment, Parking and Transportation needs assessment, and classroom utilization study.
  • Maximo implementation budget and time line set.  Waiting on Georgia Procurement Registry in order to award the PO to AME.
  • Continuing to meet with the campus Uniform committee to discuss uniforms.  Waiting on campus logo standard. Contract will remain separate on both campuses until new FY.
Deliverable Timeframe
Space Database (Archibus) proposal for ASU to standardize bldg database.  This is ongoing and close to  implementation by end of year. Sep – July 2013
Signage / Wayfinding – RFP out for consultants to do design.  Finalist selection on Nov 16,2012. Jan –July 2013
Contracts reviewed on both campuses –     Consolidated contract list developed.    Jan 2013 we will review those contracts that can be consolidated and   implement with FY14 budget. Jan – July 2013

Facilities Work Team Update

  • Developing overall space plan and transition process for consolidating departments.
  • Managing the following ongoing studies:  Quality of Life Needs assessment, Parking and Transportation Needs Assessment, and Classroom Utilization Study.
  • Produced a Request for Proposal (RFP) for consultants to support the signage and way finding efforts.
  • Implementing technology systems to support work order and preventive maintenance.
  • Campus Card consolidation Team continues to meet – funding discussions on going.  Facilities currently have members from both campuses on the team.
  • Developing implementation schedule for Archibus software for Summerville campus.
  • Members from Facilities and Classroom Services Work Groups met with ASU/GHSU Nursing to determine facilities needs on GHSU campus for Spring Semester.


Athletics Work Team Update

  • Continuing to work with the Branding Work team in the procurement of GRU athletic uniforms, equipment, etc. with the mascot and colors.
  • Will be developing a 10-year strategic plan for athletics at GRU.
  • Currently working on an athletics facilities plan that is in the final stages of recommendation.
  • Preparing Intercollegiate Academic Review for preparation of Academic Athletic Profile.

Consolidation Update: July 19

Recent developments:

  • Names submitted to BOR – The Consolidation Working Group presented its final three choices for the name of the new university to the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia. The Regents are expected to make the final naming decision at their August meeting.
  • Prospectus status – The CAT reviewed drafts of the faculty and financial sections of the prospectus in preparation to deliver a complete draft to the Deans on July 27.
  • USG Facilities site visit  – The University System of Georgia Real Estate and Facilities office toured ASU and GHSU, and met with our Facilities Work Team on July 11 and 12 to gain a better understanding of the existing resources and future needs of the consolidated university. This was the beginning of an ongoing dialog to inform plans for infrastructure to support the growth of our academic, clinical and research enterprises.
  • Fees – The CAT endorsed a proposal from the Tuition & Fees Work Team for discussion with the Student Government Associations.
  • Jag Card – The uniform identification and access card for students, faculty, and staff will be called the Jag Card.

Consolidation Update: June 13

Recent developments:

  • The Legal Affairs work team has developed a “crosswalk” table to illustrate the relationship of policies at ASU, GHSU, and Board of Regents. The table will be distributed to work teams for review and ultimately for assignment to adapt or reconcile policies for the new university.
  • The Facilities work team is preparing a brief survey to inform the process of planning and assigning space for consolidated units. The survey will be distributed to co-chairs of all work teams within the next week.
  • Our continuing education units will consolidate into the Division of Professional and Community Education, which will include the departments of Professional Studies, Workforce Development, Health Care Continuing Education, and Community Education.

I frequently use the ASU library. Can I use my GHSU ID to check out ASU library materials?

Yes, with a current GHSU I.D. or another valid picture I.D. such as a driver’s license or passport.

The introduction of GIL Express as an interlibrary borrowing service within the University System of Georgia (USG), has made it easy for all USG students, faculty and staff to check out library materials from any other USG institution. Any GHSU student, faculty or staff member may present his/her current institutional I.D. card or another valid picture I.D. such as a driver’s license or passport at the Circulation Desk to check out any materials in Reese Library (or any other USG library) that are available to be checked out.

Every student, faculty or staff member in the University System should have a record in ExLibris Voyager, the library management system that is used by all the USG institutions. Information from the Voyager database is checked at ASU Reese Library’s circulation desk to verify that the person wishing to check out materials is a current
